Expand All:

What type of pot is best for making broth?

heavy-bottomed stainless steel or cast-iron pot is ideal as it distributes heat evenly and prevents burning.

Can I make broth without oil?

Yes, you can dry roast the spices or use a splash of water instead of oil. However, oil helps in enhancing the flavor.

Why do we sauté onions first?

Sautéing onions releases their natural sweetness and enhances the depth of flavor in the broth

Why should the flame be on low?

Cooking on low heat helps extract flavors slowly, giving the broth a richer taste.

Can I skip salt and pepper?

Yes, you can keep it unsalted and season it later when using the broth in other dishes.

Can I store broth in plastic containers?

It’s better to use glass or BPA-free plastic containers to avoid unwanted flavors and chemicals leaching into the broth.
