Prep Work

  1. Roast nuts & raisins

    Heat ghee in a pan, add cashews & raisins, and roast until golden brown. Keep aside

  2. Roast rava
    In the same pan, add more ghee and roast the rava on low heat for 10 minutes or until it turns light brown. Keep aside.
  3. Boil water
    In a separate pot, bring water to a boil.
  4. Add color
    Add orange food coloring to the boiling water. This step is optional.

Method

  1. Add roasted rava

    Slowly add the roasted rava to the boiling water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps

  2. Cook until thick
    Stir and cook until the mixture thickens. Add saffron and mix well.
  3. Add ghee & oil
    Add some ghee, then oil, and mix well. Continue cooking.
  4. Add sugar
    Once the rava is fully cooked, add sugar and mix. Cook until the sugar dissolves completely.
  5. Add flavoring & nuts
    Mix in cardamom powder, roasted cashews, and raisins. Stir well.
  6. Final touch
    Add remaining ghee, mix once, and turn off the stove. Serve hot.
